Silica sand crushing & screening plant is the widely used sand making plant to produce large scale high quality silica sand substitute for river sand, from quartzite, or quartz sand.
Silica sand crushing plant
The quartzite (quartz sand) is mined from deposit quarry, then the raw materials will be transferred to a stockpile for Primary crushing. In the Primary jaw crusher, the raw quartz sand is fed via a vibrating feeder from hopper. After primary crushing, the crushed quartz will be fed into cone crusher for fine crushing, then it will be sent to VSI crusher (sand making machine) for final sand making.
In the silica sand manufacturing plant, sometimes ball mill is used as silica sand grinding machine. It is can be used as fine crushing machine for glass making plant.
Silica sand screening plant
After crushing, the quartz sand will be sieved into different grades by vibrating screen. The grain size meet the demands will be collected, while the others will be transferred to sand making machine for further crushing. The sizing screen for silica sand is usually double-deck vibrating screen or triple-deck screen.
The common grain sizes in the silica sand making plant are: 0-0.5mm, 0.5-1mm,1-1.5mm, 1.5-2mm,2-4mm. These sand is widely used in building, construction and foundry industries. Some fine silica sand such as silica powder is used for glass making.
